Collagen injection is another method. Collagen is injected beneath the skin which makes the scar  surface up. This is a temporary solution. Dermabrasion and subcision are two of the more popular methods. The first one involves removal of the damaged skin after which new skin emerges. Subcision process requires the detachment of the scar from the deeper tissues of the dermis. The blood underneath clots and as a result the scarred area becomes even with the rest of the skin.
