Surgeries To Treat Acne Scars


If acne has not left you alone even after going away from your body then you are obviously amongst the worried lot? What am I talking about? Well, I am talking about acne scars. They are a cause of worry but can be treated. There are various surgeries which can help you get rid of those marks of bitter memories.

Punch Elevation
Punch Elevation is basically used to treat deep boxcar scars, with sharp edges and normal appearing bases. In this process, the base of the scar is excised, leaving the walls of the scar intact. Thereafter, the excised base is elevated to the surface of the skin and attached with sutures, skin glue or steri-strips. The biggest advantage of this method is, it lessens the risk of color or texture differences and also of producing a visible scar as might happen after the edges are sutured.

Dermal Fillers
Some of the commonly used Dermal Fillers are bovine collagen, fat, hyaluronic acid derivatives, human collagen, and polytheyl-methacrylate microspheres with collagen. These fillers are injected into acne scars to raise the surface of the skin and thus give it a smoother look. This is not a permanent method, therefore further timely injections are necessary.

These methods may sometimes seem scary and unreliable but the fact is that they have shown considerable results and therefore can be trusted.
