In such a situation, women have an excessively high level of free testosterone. When this hormone is broken down by the body, a byproduct released is DHT (Dihydrotestosterone). This substance then signals oil-producing parts of the body (chest, face, back, neck) to make more oil. Acne emerges when this excess oil does not come out of underneath the skin and propagates the growth of bacteria which is found there. In order to control such a situation you need to focus not only on treating the external symptoms of acne but also the hormonal reasons behind the occurrence of the same. Following are some basic things that you can do of your own. Tip 1- Regulate what you eat. Ensure that the food is organic and is hormone free. If possible, minimize the intake of milk and milk products. Better still, go for hormone-free milk. You might be wondering how, but it is true. Hormones are found inside milk. They are administered to cows to keep them lactating for as long as possible. Tip 3- Treat acne with the help of fish oils. Fish oils already function as neurotransmitter balancers. Apart from this, they are also helpful in controlling the occurrence and spread of acne-related inflammation. Tip 4- There are other methods to control inflammation. Anti-oxidants play an important role in the control of acne. Hence, eat fruits and vegetables as they contain a lot of anti-oxidants. Further, avoid foods that have been deep fried. Though not directly but indirectly they do result in the occurrence and severance of inflammation. Tip 5- You may also need the help of a medical expert, who specializes in hormone treatment, in order to normalize your estrogen to testosterone ratio. This would effectively treat the problem by targeting the root cause itself. Related Articles |
