What's The Right Medication For Back Acne?

Isotretinoin

Some of the commonly used retinoids to treat back acne include- Tretinoin, Adapalene and Tazarotene.  Tretinoin is available in the form of topical medications under several trade names such as Retin A Micro, Avita and Renova. Adapalene is available in a gel or cream form and is marketed as differin. Tazarotene is available under the trade name of tazorac. Antibiotics
Antibiotics are used in both- the topical as well as oral form to treat back acne. This category of medicines works to treat back acne by destroying the causative bacteria known as P acnes. Amidst oral antibiotics, tetracycline, Minocycline, Erythromycin and Doxycycline are some of the most commonly used medicines. While these medicines are highly effective, they may have certain side effects.

Some of the most commonly used topical antibiotics to treat bacne include Clindamycin and Erythromycin. Tetracycline is another back acne medication but it is used less often. These medicines come in a variety of forms such as gels, pads, lotions and other solutions. They are the best option to go in for if your back acne is accompanied with inflammation.
