What are whiteheads?

Scrubbing unclogs the blocked pores and also removes dirt, debris and other dead skin cells that keep sticking to your skin.

Taking a good steam every week will also help you deal with whiteheads. Subject your skin to mild steam. This will not just soften the skin but also open clogged skin pores. However, make sure that you follow up steaming by applying a toner. Alternatively, you could even rub ice cubes on your skin. This will close the opened pores.

There are several creams and gels available in the market that can help treat whiteheads. Creams that contain alpha hydroxyl fruit acids open up blocked pores and also help remove whiteheads. You may also consider seeing a doctor if you are dealing with persistent whiteheads.

Besides using OTC medications, you may also use various home remedies to fight whiteheads. Rubbing lemon peel could help you fight whiteheads. Applying a paste of fenugreek seeds could also be helpful.
