Is mineral oil bad for acne prone skin? The question still remains a puzzle for everyone. Well, there are certainly some ingredients in various products which are injurious to your acne prone skin. Some products or cosmetic products are bad for your skin due to the availability of some ingredients which make your acne prone skin worse. According to some people, mineral oil found in Vaseline and or any other kind of petroleum jelly worsen the acne leading of severe pimples on the face. The truth according to few people are that mineral oil can have adverse effect on acne skin care. It would not help in treating acne instead, would definitely worsen it by making your skin more oily. So, use only mineral oil free cosmetic and beauty products to have an acne free skin.

However, the reputation of mineral oil not good for your acne prone skin is not true as only industrial oil used in the beauty products are harmful and not the beauty oil used in them. It has been found that industrial oil may be comedogenic, leading to cause blackheads and whiteheads but cosmetic grade mineral oil is not comedogenic in nature.

Therefore, consumers when buying the skin care products should look for those who claim to be non-comedogenic and not ''mineral oil free''. In case you don't want mineral oil in your products then go for those containing silicones as emollients and hydrators like dimethicone and glycerin. This would also help you after your acne treatment by preventing your skin from being oily. So, before using mineral oil, you are advised to know the answer of much talked about question- is mineral oil bad for acne prone skin?
