Teenagers are the worst affected by acne and pimples.
About 85 % of teenagers in America are suffering from this disease in
one way or the other. They suffer from pimples, blackheads, whiteheads
and zits. The point to be noted is that why are teenagers targeted by
this skin disease. Answer to this is hormonal problems. Hormones and acne are closely knit. At the start of
puberty, many hormonal changes take place in human body, that is why
children in teen years suffer from acne.
There
are two main hormones called androgens and progesterone that cause acne
in teen years. Imbalance of these hormones can lead to severe skin
diseases. Androgens, progesterone and acne can be linked together.
Androgens
is a hormone that maintains the growth of masculine features. If there
is imbalance in this hormone then it leads to excessive outburst of
sebum. This leads to many skin diseases that include acne. At the time
of puberty, these glands come in action and make excessive sebum.
Progesterone
is a hormone that is found in the body of women. It helps to control
hormonal imbalance in the body and pre-menstrual syndrome that causes
many skin problems. This hormone gives oxygen to skin cells which helps
them to avoid acne. So, this hormone is used to cure acne. Even many
products like, creams including progesterone are available which make
the acne disappear. This is proving to be an effective treatment in the
list of acne treatments because there are no side effects countered till
now.
Androgens, progesterone and acne are related in one way or
the other as hormones are the main cause of acne.
