The age old adage
that we are what we eat holds particularly true in the case of skin
ailments like acne. There are in fact several myths and facts associated
with acne. Acne and diet is one aspect which gives rise to many such
myths and facts related to the subject.
It is believed by some

possibility causing acne. Howsoever, it is very much possible that food
allergies in some cases may cause acne or other related skin ailments.
Some of the ways that eating wrong types of food causes acne are
illustrated in this article.
Understand the formation of acne due
to your diet. When you eat some food that causes allergy to you, your
body begins to create toxic substances to fight the allergic reactions.
The body just starts to expel out the toxins and zits and blemishes crop
up on your skin.
A high-fat diet
increases the amounts of fats in and on the skin. Extreme changes in
food intake such as almost total avoidance of fat or inclusion of fat as
the sole source of food greatly fluctuates the amount of secretions from
the pores which has been found to be a major cause of acne.
Eating a balanced diet with lower-glycemic carbohydrates and fats
such as cereals, fresh vegetables and juices instead of high-glycemic
food products such as milk, grains, processed food, bread and potato
chips helps in preventing acne.
A high-fat diet also increases
the amount of hormone production which causes early puberty in teens.
This leads to skin ailments like acne with rather serious side effects.
Thus,
only a balanced diet with low-glycemic food and less fat can prevent
acne from happening as well as keep the person fit and healthy to enjoy
life to its fullest.
