Acne does not come
alone, along comes various sufferings and the related disorders. The
most common after acne problem is acne scars, which are even more
difficult to fight and treat. As you get ready to farewell acne, the
scars show their presence to add more to your acne blues.
But, in reality, there is not much to
worry about acne scars. Just like acne, you can also cure the acne
scars. And all this requires a little bit of care, precaution and
understanding.
The magnitude of scars on one’s body depends
on the type of acne that the person was suffering from. Plus, the
scars vary from person to person. For some people, they are extremely
visible while for other they are very light.
Acne scars afflict people in many
different ways. They come in the form of boxcar scars, hypertrophic
scars, ice pick scars and rolling scars. Amongst them, the ice pick
scars are the most common and a little difficult to treat. They are
characterized by deep holes or fissures in the skin. The boxcar scars
are generally found on the cheeks and temple of an acne sufferer.
These scars look like marks of chicken pox. The hypertrophic scars
are the most visible scars on the body of a person. They are inflamed
scars that give the face a red look. They are very thick in nature.
The rolling scars on the other hand resemble soft grooves on the skin
surface.
Depending on the type
of scar, the treatment can be suggested. The common scar treatments
and therapies include punch excision, collagen therapy, laser
resurfacing, grafting and chemical peels. But before going in for any
of these therapies, it is advisable to meet a good doctor. In fact
you should get a patch test done before going in for a full-fledged
treatment.
The general course of any treatment or
therapy takes about 4 to 12 months to show its effective results. But
there are certain scars that are not easily removed. For such scars,
either you need to prolong the treatment or go in for some other
treatment or therapy.
Predominantly, almost all the
treatments dealing with the removal of acne scars involve the removal
of skin peel that bears the scar. Take for instance the laser
therapy. In Laser therapy laser beams are used to remove the layers
of the skin that actually bear the acne scar. Generally, laser
therapy is best for the scars that are present in the deep layers of
skin. After removing the scary peels of the skin, the doctor will
give the patient a collagen treatment to fill up all the fissures
that have been created in the skin in due course of treatment or due
to the scars.
Thus having a scar-free skin is
something that is not difficult to achieve. All you need is a good
guidance and a safe treatment.
