Acne can be on account of genetic and hereditary reasons; in which case the problem is  relatively tough to deal with. However, there are many effective natural ways of getting rid of acne. These ways reduce the intensity of acne and prevent any further occurrence.

Nuts, fruits and vegetables should be regular parts of your everyday food intake. These food items are nutritious and help in the smooth circulation of blood. They also contain essential components like zinc and selenium which prevent the growth of acne. At least one salad should be incorporated into your daily diet.

Drinking enough water is very important to rid yourself of acne. If the body is short of the required amount of water, it leads to dehydration. The skin dries up and dead skin cells clog the pores of the skin. A minimum of two litres of mineral water per day can help to keep the pores free.

You should try to keep a check on the amount of caffeine you take. Caffeine increases the level of stress hormones in the body which, in turn, can result in acne. You should cut down on your carbohydrate and sugar intake. Consume dairy products and red meat sparingly. These foods supply various hormones in excess of normal body requirements and tax digestion. The body fails to release the waste materials and the onus falls on the skin. The skin gets overworked and the effects are shown in the form of acne.

Exercises and meditation are of great help. These activities increase blood flow and immunity, helping the overall healing process. It is a great idea to get lots of sunshine. The body produces vitamin D when exposed to the sun, giving the skin a healthy glow.
