Simple whiteheads, bumps or rashes that occur to an infant is referred to as Baby acne. It can occur on either the face, chin or even at the back. It generally occurs when a baby is 3 to 4 weeks old and the problem may persist up to till the baby is 6 or 7 months old. Baby acne is said to be caused by the hormones passed on by the baby's mother at the time of birth or through breast milk. Also, male infants are more prone to baby acne than female infants.

Regarding baby acne treatment the best thing to do is to wait and watch, as in most cases it has been seen that baby acne disappears itself after around 3 months i.e. when the baby becomes 6 months old.

But still as parents we always have to be careful so that our child stay away from any kind of danger. So, first of all we have to see whether it is a minor allergy or an acne and after that only we should take appropriate steps. Also, we should not use any harsh medicines or rough cloth as this scrub and irritate the skin. We should also look forward to that we keep our child in a jovial and cheerful mood as when he gets more irritated or fussy acne deepens its tentacles. Also, we should avoid oils, lotions and go for some mild baby soap. You should also avoid excessive washing of the face. You can also go for some medications that have natural ingredients.
You should be careful not to expose the baby's skin to too much sunshine as a baby's skin is very sensitive.
The most appropriate baby acne treatment is to take advice from a good dermatologist. Usually they would give consent to using a mild cleanser. But the best baby acne treatment is “patience”.
