Getting A Set Of Creams, Lotions And Gels To Treat Your Acne |
|
Any cream that is soft like butter and full of
fragrance seems good for applying on the face. Your nostrils like that
aroma. When, unfortunately you have an attack of acne, you get lots of
such opportunities to stand before the mirror and apply acne creams,
lotions and gels. The joy-cream turns out to be a fear-cream now. You
don't like to see the growth and spread of acne on your face. Now, you
don't like these creams as such, but you have no other alternative.
Do not have imaginings that you apply cream and the acne will
vanish forthwith. Acne has come to stay, it has the premeditated plans
about what to do with your face and how long to stay there. But if you
make its stay more comfortable, by not taking proper care, it may
prolong its trip further.
Over the counter medications like
creams, lotions and gels do a reasonably good job to control acne. But
as an additional support, you need to avoid anything that contributes to
skin irritation, like cosmetics, greasy ointments, petroleum oils,
alcohol and oleic acid containing cosmetics.
These are helpful
oils as well. Lavender oil, tea tree oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil are
good in combating acne. You need to develop the habit of cleansing the
skin. Wear no make up at bedtime; your skin should be allowed to breathe
freely in the night. Use a gentler scrub, to exfoliate, at least 3-4
times per week.
For treating mild acne, use topical agents like
gels and lotions. Benzoyl peroxide is the most acceptable for treating
acne, either in the form of cream, lotion or gel. When the pores of the
skin are clogged, due to excess oil secretion, bacteria thrive. The next
condition is inflammation and swelling. This medication tackles bacteria
and the dead cells are removed from the skin's surface.
The next one is retinoic acid. This is one of the mild agents that
works steadily and effectively. The first reaction of this medicine is
aggravation but then it slowly does its job of removing the dead skin
cells.
Sulfur-is another type of effective medication, be it in
the form of cream, lotion or gel, which provides the back up to heal
blemishes.
The problems with the skin, when you
have the attack of acne are many and so are the means of treatment. The
Salycylic acid clears the pores, takes out dirt and oils but its
specific job is to treat the blackheads.
More or less, in the
same category, you have Azelic acid. This is very mild and non-toxic. It
attacks bacteria, the root cause of acne, diminishes inflammation and
restores the original health of acne. The dark post-acne spots are taken
care of, by this medicine.
All the above are available as over
the counter medications in the form of acne creams, lotion and gels.
