Cut Through Acne With Dermabrasion |
|
Dermabrasion was first developed in the early 1950's and was initially
used to treat facial scarring. Nowadays, it is used to treat wrinkles as
well as certain types of skin lesions. Dermabrasion basically removes the
topmost thin layer of the skin.
The area is cleaned thoroughly and is sanded with
antiseptic cleansing agent. A numbing agent might be applied to freeze
the area to be treated. The doctor then carefully moves the Dermabrasion
tool over the affected area to remove the upper thin layers gently till
the time he reaches the desired layer to be removed to treat that
particular lesion. The procedure takes only a few minutes for small
areas while it could take hours for the bigger ones.
There are a few care tips that you will need to follow after
going through Dermabrasion:
To avoid any pigmentation in the healed skin, use sunscreen lotions
and avoid the sun as much as possible.
If you witness any yellow crusting on your skin, inform your doctor.
Continue antiviral medication to avoid any infections.
Prolonged swelling and redness should immediately be brought under the
doctor's notice.
