If you have a good acne product, you have a staggering market for it. You will have customers in plenty belonging to all parts of the society. Babies, children, youth, men, women and the senior citizens! But, if you scan the market, the number of acne products, samples alone, will be in tons. Your decision to launch a new acne product would therefore mean that you are aware of the ground realities in relation to production and marketing.

You need to develop a perfect product. You must be in a position to convince the general public, what are the special qualities of your products, so that it beats other products! Secondly know your marketing plans in detail. You may have the best product. But if the world does not know about it, what is the use of the product?

If your product catches the imagination of the market, there could be a sudden spurt in the demand. Do you have enough production capacity? Any product, progressing through the development pipeline to the stage of launch, needs to have resource allocations to tackle the special blend of competitive pressures, commercial viability and regulatory hurdles. Many a support functions need to be done well in time, for successful marketing of the products.

You have certain expectations. Investor in your company has tremendous expectations and faith in your capacity to successfully launch this new acne product. There is a guaranteed market. But then, where could be the causes for failure? Your important function here is to prepare the market for the product, well in advance before the registration.


Once a product loses track in the market, it is very difficult, to strike gains in the market again. Lack luster performance, demoralizes your sales force and their sales incentive figure will not inspire them.

So, the pre-clinical stage, the registration and launch and the first 12 to 18 months in the actual market- each of these steps have lots of importance. Some of the pre-launch expenses come in the spending categories, such as product positioning, pricing, market research, sales force development and advertising to final delivery of the products to the customers.

Acne product is a line of business, where an individual with sufficient resources and with good business acumen has a reasonable hope of success.
