In a press release, the drug company Syntopix Group said that it is applying for patents of three acne treatments. Interestingly, the Group is a spun off from the University of Leeds.

Syntopix is putting the three potential acne treatments into clinical product development.According to the Group, the three compounds are capable of combatingacne and staphylococcal infections.

It also said that all three compounds have a history of use in man, in line with the company's reduced-risk strategy.
