Blackheads have no all cosmetic solution!
Blackheads which are not caused by germs are prone to infections when excessively touched or pressed. A wrong blackhead rupture may be a cause to severe acne formation. So blackheads should never be tempered with nails or needles. Do not try blackhead removal in hands of an inexperienced beautician.

Types of blackheads
According to Ayurveda, blackheads can be divided into two types lighter ones (vayanga)and darker ones (nyachcha). But some other divisions vary as per their severity and location of attack.
Facial blackheads
Facial blackheads are the most distressing. They are caused when sebum blocks the skin pores and is further aggravated by humid conditions, hormonal factors and oily products. They can affect people of any age group and are mainly found on areas rich in sebaceous glands such as forehead, nose and chin. Usually the T zone of your face is more prone to blackheads.
How do you know you have blackheads on your face?
- When you see enlarged pores
- Cosmetics application doesn't stay
- The skin breaks out as flakes
- You notice too much of uneven skin with scarring
To curb the growth of facial blackheads you need to mange them. Use oil free cosmetics and products. Wash your face twice, everyday with a mild soap and water. Plugs should be extracted only by a physician, since damage to the surrounding tissues occasioned by squeezing may often lead to scarring.
Popular blackhead treatments
After releasing the material inside them, you can treat blackheads early. But popping is not the best of the methods to do so. The popular methods to treat, remove blackheads are:
- Comedolytic topical agents consisting of benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid, salicylic acid, retinoids, and glycolic acid.
- Isotretinoin, acne antibiotics and hormonal therapy.
- Exfoliating agents, black head extractors and pore strips.
- Certain surgeries such as Cryotherapy, Electrosurgery and Microdermabrasion.
Although it is considered to be a mild-moderate form of acne, ignorance may lead to severity of the situation. So beware and meet your dermatologist as you locate their recurring growth.
