Infantile Acne Scars
The last thing any mother would want to see on her newly born child's face would be pimples. Infantile acne or neonatal acne is not a serious condition but can be a little irritating. One of the primary concerns associated with baby acne is infantile acne scars.

When your baby is dealing with acne, you are bound to be concerned about the scarring that the acne might leave behind. Even if the acne disappears, there is always a chance of formation of baby acne scars. But nevertheless, you need not worry.

In most cases baby acne does not leave any scars. Baby acne heals on its own. It usually withers away within few days or maximum weeks of the child's birth and that too without causing any scarring. So there is no need to worry about acne scars.

However, there are some babies who have a tendency to prick and scratch their pimples. In such cases, there is a chance of minimal scarring. To ensure that baby acne does not leave any scars, try to ensure that your child is not scratching the face as much as possible.

While infantile acne does not leave any scars, it is always good to be on the safer side and practice some precautionary measures in advance. You can always take adequate precautions to make sure that your child's acne leaves without causing any scars.

One of the precautionary measures you can take to avoid infantile acne scars is cleanse your child's skin regularly. Use a good quality facial cleanser to clean your baby's skin. Since the skin of your child is very sensitive, it would be best to opt for a dermatologist or an expert approved cleanser.

Also avoid rubbing your child's skin. Try to be as gentle on the skin as possible. Also try to use a soft cloth when cleaning your child's skin. Rough or abrasive cloths can irritate the pimples and result in neonatal acne scars.

If baby acne persists for a longer duration and refuses to go, it is always wise to consult a doctor. The doctor will consider the condition of baby acne and the chances of any kind of scarring. A doctor can advise an appropriate treatment for baby acne which can prevent the formation of acne scars.

Infantile acne scars is a rare condition and does not occur in most cases of baby acne. But nonetheless, it would only be wise for you take some basic precautions and follow adequate skin care in order to eliminate the chances of infantile acne scars. Just take care of the skin of your child and you will not have to deal with neonatal acne scars.
